The project focused on the Human Library method (www.humanlibrary.org) as a tool to foster social inclusion, to sustain social growth, solidarity and tolerance among the participants. Furthermore it concentrated on sharing experiences among cultural diversity, mutual understanding, inclusion of people with fewer opportunities, inter-religious dialogue, anti-discrimination and sexual discrimination, gender equality and cultural stereotypes.
The participants were lead through all the steps of the Living Library process: planning a Library, living books recruitment, living books training, reader’s attitude and public events. Above all, the participants shared their experience in facing stereotypes and prejudices in their own background, they had the possibility to discuss about these matters through round tables, debates, workshops and Cineforum.
All the activities were based on non formal and informal education methods and the Human Library method itself represents a perfect tool to develop non formal and informal learning methods.
